RA and Psoriasis together?
Anyone have RA and Psoriasis diagnosis? I now have both. Seems that Enbrel triggered the psoriasis to come out of hiding.
I am sorry you are dealing with Ra and Psoriasis, too, Iwillsurvive. I know dealing with two diagnoses isn't easy. I know a few of our members deal with RA and Psoriasis and hopefully they will see your post chime in. Since both conditions are autoimmune conditions, it's not uncommon for them to occur together. thank you for your reply. i have checked out this PS page and will continue to refer to. I am trying to get my dermatologist and rheumatologist on the same page.
Psoriasis is a well documented but uncommon side effect of TNF inhibitors of which Enbrel is one.
It’s very possible that you don’t have Psoriasis except as a side effect.
I developed Palmoplantar Pustulosis about a year after I started Cimzia. First it was diagnosed as hydrotic eczema, but then the pustules began forming. It was another full year before I convinced my rheumatologist and dermatologist that it might be a side effect. I then switched to Orencia and although it took several months, my skin completely cleared and now it’s as if it never was.
I think if I’d switched biologics sooner I’d have healed up faster- but hindsight is 20/20 of course!
