What can I do about all the stress that I see in 2021?

Has anyone written any new articles about reducing the stress that causes RA flares?

  1. Hi Beth! Thanks for checking in. You're asking a question that I am sure that many others also want to know as well.

The most recent article related to stress management (as of now) can be found here: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/stress-management/

This article was published in November 2020. While it doesn't speak specifically to events in 2021, it offers a lot of action steps and ideas to try that should apply to 2021 as well.

I hope this helps and thanks for asking!

    Warmly,

    1. Hi betharooski. Your concerns are certainly understandable and the stresses of dealing with a chronic condition like RA are already considerable. We actually have quite a few articles in our archive looking at stress and emotional and mental health. This article looks at managing emotional challenges and stress: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living-with-ra/managing-emotional-problems-and-stress/.

In addition, I want to stress that it is o.k. to talk to a professional, particularly if things feel overwhelming. This article from one of our contributors looks at the importance of not neglecting mental health: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/dont-neglect-mental-health/.
