Rest when you need too. Educate family members what RA is

The guilt that comes with chronic illness.

  1. Hi . Have you had much success educating family and friends? I want to share this article from Lynn Marie on explaining RA to friends and family: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/disease-explanation. It is one of the best explanations out there.

Also, please know that people here understand the guilt that can come with chronic conditions. I don't know if you have seen this article from our contributor Daniel on guilt being a package deal with chronic conditions: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/guilt-chronic-illness. We know managing it is easier said than done, but Daniel is correct - there should be no guilt in making yourself a priority. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. Richard is right, as per usual! 😊 There shouldn't be any guilt about putting yourself first... but.... that's not how our brains work, is it? Sometimes they don't do the thing they should and we feel guilt anyway. It is unavoidable sometimes, unfortunately. We just deal with it the best we can - together! You are not alone! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

      1. I hope you’re doing well and taking good care of yourself. Chronic illness can be overwhelming, but with new grace each and everyday, you can make it. Continue to hold your head up and don’t hesitate to lean on your support system when you need them the most. All the best, Latoya (Team Member)
