Rheumatoid Nodule Surgery Stories - Please Share

Hi all, I've had RA for about 15 years now. Primarily in my feet. I'm just about in remission with all the rest of my joints, except for this ... I have two painful nodules on my big left toe. I'm an avid hiker, biker and just all around active person and since I have to walk carefully because of my toe, I now have a knee injury. I don't want the knee to get worse, but I also don't want to have nodule surgery and then have it not work or have them come back. Does anyone have a nodule surgery experience they can share?
