Severe side effect of biological treatment
I have RA for more than 20 years and thyroid too. Although it is yet not at an advanced stage, I am getting flare-ups anytime and getting all right in a week with steroids.
A few years ago, I was recommended biological injection treatment. However, my lungs were badly affected due to the wrong pre-treatment precautionary tests being administered before starting biological treatment. Now my lungs are working at 50% capacity.
I had to stop that biological treatment had to resort to Folitrax.
I would like to know is there any new therapy or local domestic remedies to sustain lungs disabilit?

I think, most (99.9%) medical professionals cannot help you because RA cannot be cured with medicine. I took matters in my own hands and have been free of flares for more than 25 years. I used no medicines whatsoever and in my estimate at least a million people have rid of their RA with similar methods. Long term use of medicines and steroids are known to cause permanent damage but it is still worth a try. I recommend reading one or all of the following 4 books.

2. A Doctor's proven New home cure for Arthritis. By Richard Campbell. 1971
3. Healing Arthritis by Dr. Susan Blum.
4. Immune system Recovery plan.
If your immune system is not damaged by the drugs and steroids, you should be pain free for the rest of life in about a week your provided you strictly follow the dietary restrictions. The dietary restrictions are difficult but I found major health improvement besides getting rid of the RA.
I was able to to remove dietary restrictions using several supplements and probiotics but it is long story.
You can buy the 4 books in used forms for about $5 each by searching the web.
My favorite book is book number 2 by Campbell.

. Mind if I ask what test was not administered? Was it the test for latent TB? I ask because I know people are supposed to get this test because there is a risk of biologic medications activating the condition and causing lung issues/damage. I have seen information/research on potential pre-treatment that can allow for RA patients to take biologics or JAK inhibitors, but, as Effie noted, you would need to speak to a doctor about the possibilities.
