Anyone travelled around Asia without any vaccinations due to being on Rituxan(rituximab)

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak on travel to Asia, but I do want to share with you this article which discusses vaccination recommendations for those with rheumatic diseases: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5042271. It notes that "It is recommended to wait for vaccination at least 6 months after rituximab infusion. However, if a vaccine, such as influenza, needs to be administered within a certain time interval, vaccination should be done, although lower vaccine effectiveness is expected." I also want to share this page on travel vaccines and advice for East and Southeast Asia: https://www.passporthealthusa.com/destination-advice/east-and-southeast-asia. Your doctor should be able to advise, based on the specifics of your case, what is possible for vaccination. Hopefully others will chime in on any experience traveling in Asia. 1. Hi, !

I can't offer more insight than Richard already did. I have a sister who travels extensively and from her experiences, I can say that certain areas of Asia are less of a risk than others when it comes to various viruses and diseases. So, depending on where exactly you are going (and when), that could factor in to whether you want to risk going without vaccinations. It honestly does depend on a few factors; like your overall health, access to quality medical facilities while traveling, etc.
