Travel and transporting RA injections

How can I travel with my RA Benepali injections keeping them at the correct temperature?

  1. thanks so much for reaching out. I'm not sure if there's a specific type of travel that you're doing, but I'm sharing an article here from our advocate, Mariah, with some tips for traveling with refrigerated medications. https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/traveling-with-refrigerated-medications Also, hopefully some of our community members can comment here and share any of their tips or tricks as well. And, of course, we recommend reaching out to your doctor or nurse for any of their suggestions or advice for transporting your medication safely. I hope that you can get some good insight and feedback. Wishing you a gentle evening. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Thankyou so much Christine for this information which has really re-assured me. However, I have had no luck whatsoever from my doctor or RA specialist regarding what travel coolers are suitable for maintaining temperatures between 2 - 8 degrees! I have looked online without success. Most travel bags are for diabetic use and not large enough to carry my injections (in original packaging).

      1. oh shoot, that is too bad that your doctor has not been able to be more helpful about a travel cooler. What about a pharmacist? Is it possible they would have some ideas? Or even the manufacturer of Benepali? It's hard to imagine that other people haven't also needed to travel with their medications. How frustrating that it's so hard to find any information about it. Hopefully between everyone in the community here we can find something. What size (dimensions) of a travel bag/cooler would you need? I'm really hoping some of our community members have some ideas. But please keep us posted! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
