Treatment plan

My consultant thinks I have been taking my methotrexate but I haven’t been taking it in 2 years so she thinks I have to take rituximab on top to control the inflammation I had rituximab 4 years ago and she wants to start it again so I’m going to tell her but I’m worried about what her reaction will be because I haven’t been taking my medication

  1. I totally get why you'd be worried about this, but being honest with your consultant is really the best approach. They’re there to help, and the more they know, the better they can support you. They might be surprised, but I’m sure they’ll appreciate your honesty and work with you to figure out the best plan moving forward. If you stopped the medication for any specific reason, it might help to share that too—sometimes there are things they can adjust or address. You’ve got this and let us know how it goes! -Latoya (Team Member)

    1. I had bowel cancer when I was 46 my mother had bowel cancer at the same age and same spot, she then got a different cancer in her lungs at 58 and died a year later I’m now 55 I’m worried about getting lung cancer and I’m a bit sick of having to tolerate strong medication

      1. It’s a lot to be worried about your doc’s reaction and have a fear of cancer. I agree with Latoya, it is important to be completely honest with your doctors. Tell her about not taking your meds and why. You will not be her first patient to not follow the med plan. And if you don’t want to restart either med, ask about other options. Please also share your concerns about cancer. Maybe, if it works for you, talk with the Doctor about re-uniting as a team. When I’m nervous about appointments, it really, really helps me to take a short list off my questions and concerns with me. I Hope your appointment goes well, Jo
