Trouble with walking and stiffness after sitting a short time

When I sit down in my recliner or get up out of bed, I have horrible stiffness and coordination in my legs. It is frustrating! I also have newly developed discomfort in my pelvic area. Mostly in the joints where my legs and hip join. Has anyone else had these problems? I don’t know if it’s the RA or something else.

  1. I think it's very difficult to tell over the Internet what is going on. I guess first would be to ask what age you are, it could be something as simple as osteo-arthritis - the age-related kind, but the best way is to schedule an appointment with a rheumatologist if possible. They will use blood tests and their years of experience to determine if it is, in fact, RA. Let us know if there's anything we can do. Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. Hi . It might be wise to see both your rheumatologist and your primary care doctor or your gynecologist given the pelvic area discomfort. RA might be contributing to your new symptoms, but there might also be something else going on. If your symptoms worsen, I hope you consider going to the ER or the urgent care. Pelvic discomfort is nothing to mess around with if it becomes severely uncomfortable. Keep us posted if you are able. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
