Does anyone else experience flu-like symptoms?

Just got tested for COVID-19. Symptoms have been cough (better today), short of breath (mostly with very light exertion), very tired/fatigued, body aches, and no to low fever. Something just made me think to look up side effects of Humira (which I've been on over a month now) and those can be side effects of Humira.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm curious in anyone has experienced either and if it sounded like what I'm experiencing. I realize that nobody on this forum can diagnose, etc, but could spread light on how either condition feels. Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi Sonnysmom18. Your concerns about COVID-19 are understandable and it is great that you got tested and are being proactive. It is true that a lot of RA medications list flu-like symptoms as potential side effects. In addition, many report getting these issues with RA, so there can be a dilemma on figuring out which may be the cause. One of our contributors wrote here about phantom fevers (a pretty common RA complaint): https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/phantom-fevers. Of course, none of this is a substitute for what your doctor has to say. Wishing you the best and hoping you feel better soon. Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

    1. Thank you for your response. I got the good news last night that the test was negative, but still having some of the symptoms. I plan to contact my PCP and rheumatologist this week. Praying we all make it through this virus.

      1. That is good news Sonnysmom. One of the things that is complicating issues right now is that there are a number of other illnesses going around - from the end of a particularly bad flu season to allergies and everything in between. Hoping you are feeling better soon. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
