Thanks for the question diagnosisart. First, let me say that any new symptoms should be brought to the attention of your doctor. RA, while mostly noticed in the joints, can effect connective tissues (and many other areas of the body). This article from one of our contributors looks at RA and connective tissue: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/attack-on-connective-tissues/. This article looks at connective tissues and other areas of the body that can be attacked: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/ra-impacts-much-just-bones-joints/. Of course, the shin splint like pain could be from something else entirely. Please let us know how you are doing. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

Thank-you for pointing me to that article! I would love to discuss each of these things with my rheumy but between visis I have to just do my best to troubleshoot. I’ll definitely journal the issue AND minimize the stress I put on that area. Thanks
