Long Journey
It all started with a yearly eye appointment about two years ago. Had to go to a specialist. They found a pseudo-tumor on my optic nerve.
Started on medication to decrease it (it didn't, but it didn't grow). My whole body ballooned up, I had to remove my wedding rings. I could hardly walk. Seen my PCP, he put me on blood pressure medication, prednisone (or admit to the hospital).
A correct diagnosis of RA took two years
Over the last two years it has been doctor appointments, a CT of my head, 2 MRI of my brain, 2 spinal taps, carpal tunnel surgery, and stent in my head to drain the CSF, my neurological ophthalmologist told me at one time you have an autoimmune disorder. After everything, finally diagnosed with RA. With all this I am a floor Nurse in Long Term Care facility.
