Avsola

How long does Avsola take for it to kick in? Have had my 2nd dose, & feel the same as I did before starting it.

  1. Hi Kim, it depends entirely on the person. Typically it can take a few weeks to few months for the body to get accustomed. Has your doctor prescribed anything else to hold your symptoms while you wait for it to kick in? I would give it till the next dosage and the next. Hang in there, things can improve! -Effie, team member

    1. Hi . Just to follow up on what Effie said, this article notes that "Avsola starts to work after your first dose, but it may take up to 14 weeks to see if Avsola is working for your condition:" https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/drugs-avsola-dosage. Hopefully you are on the shorter end of the range and get some relief soon. Best, Richard (Team Member)

      1. - Thank you very much for that link. It did help to clarify add’l questions I had, & which my rheumatologist never told me. I believe this avenue of reaching out it far more beneficial than what some of us rely on from the Dr.

        1. You are very welcome . My wife, Kelly Mack, is a contributor here. She was diagnosed at age two, 45 years ago - before modern treatments. She has used a wheelchair since her teens. I know that I can't truly understand what she and others here experience, but one thing I can do is try to provide information so people can have more informed conversations with their doctors. Thank you for the feedback that it is helpful and never hesitate to let us know if there are topics you would like more information on. Wishing you the best. Richard (Team Member)
