Coping with the diagnosis

I’m new to this being I was just diagnosed a couple weeks ago so I’m pretty much in the dark about it all.

  1. Hi, and welcome! While I wish you had no need of a community like this one, I am glad you found us! I know you've "met" one of our other moderators, Christine. Being newly diagnosed can be such an overwhelming time, so please dont' hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We're happy to help in any way we can! I did want to share one piece from one of our patient leaders with some tips and suggestions for the newly diagnosed -- https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/blood-tests-diagnosis. I hope you fint it helpful and again, please let us know if we can help in any way!

    1. Thanks for the info. It’s reassuring to know someone is there to talk to.

      1. Always, you don't have to go through this alone! Whether it's or me or anyone else, we all know exactly what it's like to live with this wretched illness and what the day in and day out feels like. If you need anything, just ask! I know the time when first diagnosed can be overwhelming but just keep in mind everything with RA takes TIME. Time to find meds, time for the meds to work, time to see long term results, etc. etc. It can get discouraging but there is light at the end of the tunnel, even if it's temporary! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    2. It is quite a process and a lot to take in when your newly diagnosed. But this is a great community with a ton of resources and our members are a great source of support. Just know that we have your back through the ups and downs of your RA journey. We're here for you! 💜 If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out. (Latoya- Team Member)
