Good ergonomic mouse recommendations

Hi - my worse bit of arthritis is in my right thumb, I currently have an ergonomic mouse but it doesn't really seem to be helping - has anyone found a good one they can recommend? Thanks in advance

  1. I had my first flare-up two months ago, which led to my RA diagnosis. All 28 hand joints were severely inflamed. After taking prednisone and hydroxychloroquine, my inflammation has subsided enough that I can type again. And this mouse has allowed me to use my computer without thumb pain caused by a traditional, horizontal mouse.

I hope this recommendation is helpful to you and others!

  2. I’m not sure if this will be helpful to you. I have a great deal of pain in my CMC - the joint at the base of thumb nearest the wrist. I’ve used compression gloves and thumb braces in the past with some relief. What really helps me significantly is steroid injections directly into the joint. My doc does them guided by ultra sound. The joint aches for about 24 hours, then I get relief and increased function for 4-6 months. I’ve also had the knuckle of my index finger injected. Keeping these 2 joints pain free really increases my grip and strength. Hopefully, a good ergonomic mousr is sufficient for you, but this may be an option if your thumb worsens, Jo

    1. Hi Jo thank you for this. I use the supports and braces and have had an injection in my elbow and finger to great success. I'm on the list for my thumb. Its not easy is it? Thanks for your advice
