Hi Diva53. I remember those days. It is overwhelming but better times are coming. I started methotrexate (MTX) about 5 years ago and it changed everything. I hope this med works for you as well as it did for me.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Take care.

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis Diva53, but glad you have come to a place where you can get information and support. It is completely understandable to be feeling overwhelmed at this point.
You mention the methotrexate and folic acid, so let me start with articles from our editorial team on these two medications:
https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/treatment/methotrexate/

As you move forward with your doctor it may be helpful to know going into appointments what you want to ask. This article from one of our contributors compiles some questions for the doctor:

Finally, understand that it is completely normal for a diagnosis like RA to be emotionally difficult. Sometimes the emotional can take a backseat to the physical, but it is important. This article looks at the emotional aspects of a diagnosis:

Please know that you are always welcome here. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm trying to look up everything about RA and everyone is different , I feel like a fat sumo wrestler....my Dr is now testing me for Lupus..not sure what the blood work is saying I can see it on my chart from the Dr office...so far the meds makes me really tired but I workout 30 mins everyday and it makes me feel good..
