Make sure you tell your rheuamtologist about your upcoming travel plans. They can prescribe you emergency pain/inflammatory medication to take with you. Also, make sure you bring whatever else you take that helps you daily i.e. supplements, ice packs, heating pads, assistive devices. Think of what is most important to bring along and ditch the rest since carrying everything can also be too much when traveling. And lastly, if you're able to talk to someone you trust a close family member/friend about your worries, a therapist, journal, meditate. Whatever calms your mind can be of benefit. Worrying about what might happen adds more stress which causes a flare. Lower the stress and worry, and try to be present. If a flare does happen and you have prepared for it then you will have the tools to nip it in the bud. These are things I've learned the last 19 years. We just have to get out there and live life despite the worries, fears and anxiety of the what if's.
There's a couple good articles here written by one of our community writers, David. He shares his tips/experiences traveling with RA and Humira. I think you will find these helpful. Please let us know if you have any additional questions, or concerns.
