Magic Mushroom

Magic truffles/shrooms can now be used for cancer patients to help them relax and less distressed about their disease? I have read some articles from https://www.trufflemagic.com/blog/what-are-shrooms/ that psilocybin which is a major component of magic truffles can help ease anxiety and depression and on some circumstances open your creativity. So what is magic truffles anyway? Is it legal? Well the drug is clearly not for everyone, but further studies are on-going for it's medical purpose. I would really want to hear your stand regarding magic truffles. Thanks

  1. Hi Blair! This is an interesting question. While members of our community are quite open to more natural or holistic treatments choices, we always suggest that people make sure they are using safe, proven methods of treatment and run any treatment changes by their physician before proceeding. As with medical marijuana, knowing exactly what you are getting is vitally important to your safety. I would be leery of buying any unregulated product off the internet. And while truffles and mushrooms are quite delicious, again, I would only buy from a reputable source.

I don't know anything about these "magic truffles", although I have heard that some types of mushrooms can have a hallucinogenic affect. These mushrooms are not considered safe for general public consumption and I don't see how hallucinogens of any sort would really help with RA symptoms.

On another note, mushrooms of the more standard variety are considered a great anti-inflammatory food. You can read more about mushrooms and other anti-inflammatory foods here -- https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/nutrition/top-15-anti-inflammatory-foods/.

I hope this information helps and that you get additional feedback from our community members.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    1. There is a lot more to psychedelic treatment than that.

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and Crohns Disease and I have found the careful use of psychedelics extremely helpful in managing the depression/anxiety that comes along with those diseases.

As an added benefit, psychedelics allows you to engage dopaminurgic circuits in your brain, thus dampening chronic pain for a time. Sometimes we just need a reprieve. Ketamine treatment is also an option. There are perfectly legal ketamine clinics around the US that offer intervaneous infusions. My pain dropped markedly for about three months, and my anxiety and depression have been largely resolved because of my experience with ketamine.

Read up on a process called 'Central Desensitization', wherein deeply etched pain circuits are leveled out by resetting the central nervous system. This is what psychedelics like psilocybin (mushrooms) and ketamine do so well.

Lastly, I strongly advise you to do your research on these substances and their safe usage. You can't really get addicted, but they are far more powerful and immediate than what your psychiatrist is going to give you. See if you can find a ketamine clinic and consult one of their anesthesiologists. Or see if you can get in touch with a clinical researcher from somewhere like Johns Hopkins.
