Pains all over

Hi everyone
I have just been diagnosed with RA but i'm just not 100% convinced.
I have no swelling in joints and no pain in joints. I feel pain in various joints in my body but in i press the area it doesn't hurt at all. I also feel like i get a lot of muscle pain too
Just need a bit of advise as i'm a little confused
Thanks everyone, Matt UK

  1. I don't think it;s about pain in joints, but more a matter of what the blood tests show. the Rheumatoid Factor and CCP antibodies blood test results are key to diagnosis. you may be in very early stages of RA without symptoms or just starting to have symptoms.

    1. I completely get why you'd be feeling uncertain after a new diagnosis. Rheumatoid arthritis can show up in different ways, and the symptoms you’re describing—like muscle pain and joint discomfort without swelling or tenderness—can still be part of it. But if you’re feeling unsure, there's nothing wrong with considering getting a second opinion. It never hurts to ask more questions and make sure you’re getting the full picture. Have you been able to talk to your doctor about your concerns/results? -Latoya (Team Member)

      1. Hi . RA can be difficult to diagnosis, so your confusion is certainly understandable. Did you receive your diagnosis from a rheumatologist and do you know what tests were done? I just want to follow up on the excellent information from with this article from our editorial team on the diagnostic process: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/diagnosis. Also, muscle pain can be a symptom of RA (see: https://www.healthline.com/health/symptoms-related-to-ra). I also want to note that, if you do have early RA, as this research paper illustrates, the earlier a person is treated the more likely it is to avoid joint damage: https://rmdopen.bmj.com/content/1/Suppl_1/e000057. Hope this information is helpful and please feel free to keep us posted on how things are going - this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)

        1. appreciate you reaching out. Completely understandable with your confusion. If you don't mind me asking did the doctor run bloodwork, X-rays, etc to confirm diagnosis? I have lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis since my twenties. RA is a tricky disease process. Sometimes in early stages you might not feel swelling or joint pain. Are you experiencing increased fatgue at all? Please keep us posted. Just Keep Swimming...Lynn Marie, Team Member.
