If I don't have symptoms, is damage still occurring?

No symptoms, does this mean there is no damage occurring?

Does RA always progress no matter what? Meaning even if you have no symptoms, are your joints still being damaged? Or is it only active when you have symptoms?

  1. Hi clee. First, let me say that no symptoms certainly sounds great and I think many in the community will agreee. For your protection, we cannot give medical advice over the internet. Questions of whether or not you have achieved remission and how to proceed can be complicated and should be discussed between you and your doctor. In this article one of our contributors writes about the question of whether to continue treatment during remission and avoiding damage: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/remission-now-what/. Hopefully others who have had this experience can chime in. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
