How do I deal with dizzy spells in the mornings.

I have been having d'Issy spells in the mornings for the past 10 days…

  1. I also have dizziness at times. Sometimes it will last a few days sometimes longer. But it does pass. Don’t know the cause and neither do the doctors.

    1. Thank you. My doctor is having me take other blood tests. To be continued…

      1. Let us know what they say, I know after years of RA that there are a myriad of side effects that can affect you, and dizziness is certainly one of them. I know that over the years there have been times when I have been affected by it and I usually just try to take a nap or something until it passes. Just know you are definitely not alone! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

      2. Hi . It is good that you are getting some tests. I do want to share with you this extensive forum discussion about vertigo: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/stories/a-new-wrinkle-to-my-journey-with-vertigo. I don't know if this is applicable to you, but thought it could offer some insight. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    2. Thank you.

      1. I have a recent Apple Watch and it sometimes tells me that my heart rate is below 40 for 10 minutes, (38, 39), especially in the morning while resting. Has anyone experienced slow heart rates?

        1. Hi . Have you had a chance to speak with your doctor about this issue? I know that rheumatoid arthritis is often associated with low heart rate variability (see: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5744865/). In addition, inflammatory conditions, like RA, can be associated with bradycardia (slow heart rate), but I don't think it is as common (see: https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/arrhythmia/about-arrhythmia/bradycardia--slow-heart-rate). Only a doctor can determine it your bradycardia warrants any treatment. Hope you can get some answers on this soon. Best, Richard (Team Member)

        2. Having a lower heart rate can sometimes happen for various reasons, including medications, overall fitness, or even RA-related issues. It is natural for some people to have a lower heart rate, especially when resting, but it’s definitely worth bringing up with your doctor to make sure everything’s okay. Has your doctor mentioned anything about your heart rate before, or have you noticed any other related symptoms like dizziness or fatigue? -Latoya (Team Member)
