Living with RA

I have RA and have had good days, months, and very bad days and/or months, depending on the length and severity of the flare. I am wondering if anyone with RA has applied for a handicapped sticker to place on their vehicle. When my RA is acting up, I might not be able to walk on a certain day. On the very bad days when my RA is acting up, I wish I had a handicapped sticker so I can park closer to the doctor's office and/or pharmacy. Has anyone applied and use the handicap sticker due to the RA pain? Thanks!

  1. I have had one for many years now due to nothing but RA. The first time you apply you have to get a few documents from your doctor, but once you do that renewing it is no big deal, at least here in New York. I know different states have different rules but if you think it will help you make you life easier then you should definitely apply. It is made exactly for people like us! 😀 Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. I too have a disability sticker in Oklahoma it helps when you can't walk far I use mine everyday I have had total knee replacement surgery and my knee still gets swollen so it makes it difficult to walk far

      1. I have had a license plate and sticker for about 10 years. In PA, I needed the Dr to complete a form to get them. I just need to renew them when I get the form in the mail. There was no charge for either one. Definitely is worth it for me. Good luck.

        1. BIG thanks to everyone and their advice; I'm going to ask my doctor to write a letter so I can get a sticker too.

          1. , go for it! And please keep us posted if you get the sticker (only if you feel comfortable doing so)!
