Is it common to take all four medications at once?

Is it common to be on all 4 medications at once I am taking embril methotrexate plaquenil and steroids I am continued to have flares missing a lot of work and life I am in despair but questioning all these together?

  1. There are times when all four medications canbe taken at once, it certainly happened to me. The thing is, they all act with different mechanisms or they help other mechanisms work. Keep in mind, though, if you are still experiencing active disease and flares, it may be time to talk to your doctor about trying another regimen. Keep on keepin’ on, DPM

    1. Hi d54s526k74. Just wanted to echo Daniel in saying that if you feel your RA is not under control you may want to talk to your doctor about adjusting your treatment regimen. In this article one of our contributors writes about a doctor who would not let him settle for the occasional flare because of the long-term damage active disease can inflict: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/the-good-doctor/. Of course, everyone's disease is different and thus, what constitutes under control is different, but getting the best possible treatment can make a huge difference. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)
