Casmere's Update

Hi all, I haven't made an update for quite awhile now. I want to update you on things with me!

I am doing quite well. I still get some fatigue but not extreme like I did, which is great. I drove 6 hrs north before Christmas for a visit with my son & his family. I was able to do it with only 1 stop, which was better then I expected.

Going back to August, I finally had my Ruxience infusions which were delayed due to the terrible ice storm that hit a good portion of Ontario. But, I finally had them. All was good after, some fatigue but that's all.

Now, November 9th when I got up, next thing I know I am on my knees, then hitting my dresser handle whis is metal and long. I ended up getting my daughter, she called 911 but the lead paramedic was nasty and slapped a gauge pad on my head then left. My head was still bleeding all, not like at first but it still bled when patted with clean gauze pad. So my granddaughter took me to the hospital. We were there for 6 hrs, and I finally saw a Dr. he sent me home, doing nothing. The next day, thursday the 9th, I already had a appointment with my GP so he, his trainee and his nurse stitched my head up. It was 6 cm or 2 .36 inches long and was still bleeding. He was flabbergasted what I went through at the ED and with the paramedics. Then, that Friday afternoon I started having whoosy spells. I had a headache from the beginning but not real bad. So, back to the hospital. When got in to the "see & treat," they all had heard what happened last time I was there, on Wednesday, and fortunately I was treated royally. I ended up being admitted at 11pm, not to due with a concussion (which I had a mild one) but due to somthing with my blood. I had a monitor on till Sunday and the level never changed, and so I was discharged sunday afternoon.

The best thing is, December 12th I stepped on the scales that moring, hadn't been on them since March. I had been going through plateau and to my surprise, I was down another 8 plus lbs! I have lost a total of 62 lbs. Silver linings and so I end on a great note.

Thank you

  1. Hi . I'll start with the positive and say great to hear the weight loss is going well and that you finally got the care you needed. A head injury certainly deserved more attention. I guess it goes to show that medical care is provided by individuals, so bad care can, unfortunately, happen in just about any circumstance. Wishing you the best for the new year! 1. thank you very much, Richard.

  2. Thanks so much for the update, ! It sounds like there was some really good news and also some pretty tough stuff you went through in 2025. I am so glad you and your daughter kept advocating for yourself after your head injury and I am shocked you faced such dismissive care more than once.

Congratulations on your continued weight loss and I hope you continue to see success on that front in 2026 (unless you have hit your goal weight already).

And, may you stay fall free in 2026 as well!

    Best, Erin, Team Member.

  3. Thank you very much Erin. I would like about another 12 lbs gone, but will take it slow.
    Regards

    2. , I have stalled out at 50 pounds lost and it's held there for about a year. It's probably time to tweak my portions a bit, but I might wait until it's a little less gloomy here and when it's easier to avoid the kitchen!

How is the new medication working otherwise? Any side effects?
