I transitioned from Humira to a cheaper Biosimilar called Hyrimoz

Biosimilars are gaining traction...finally. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2010 but had the inflammation and stiffness years before getting treatment. In the USA, I started on Enbrel in 2012. I was on Enbrel then Humira and I've been on Hyrimoz (inject every 2 weeks) for 7 months now. I feel much better mentally and physically and have actually lost weight since the transition. The weight loss may be a coincidence but I definitely feel much better. I'm on a mix of Methotrexate, Folic Acid and Hyrimoz.

Unfortunately for many, Hyrimoz is only available outside the USA. The only problem for me is the Hyrimoz injection pens are cheap and often miss-fire. Humira injection pens are much more reliable.

I live in Indonesia after leaving the US in 2020. A Hyrimoz pen costs me around $120 USD which is almost exactly half price of Humira here. Many Americans and Canadiens with various forms of RA are moving to Thailand just for this cheaper medical alternative and the great hospital care which Thailand hospitals provide.

I am new to this group. I hope to connect with others and learn and hear from others with Ankylosing Spondylitis as it has been a struggle for me.Hyrimoz Injection Photo

  1. You are certainly not the only one in our community who is living with ankylosing spondylitis. https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/stories/treating-ankylosing-spondylitis-radon-biologics It goes hand in hand with rheumatoid arthritis at times and it is painful! Hopefully this gives you a place to start. Keep on keepin' on, DPM
