  1. "Went to my rheumy appt yesterday. Got a referral to a dermatologist for my red scaly patch on my head. I have them all over too, but none flaring right now. He says it could be psoriasis, that I’m a prime candidate, but that I am on Humira anyway so no change in meds. It’s a good referral because no one has looked at all of my skin, and I’m fair and freckled. Not sure when they can get me in though."

  2. "Feeling bummed because I have a scaly itchy patch on my scalp for 3 months that I’ve been treating. Looks like it’s either eczema or psoriasis. Trying a psoriasis cream on it. Seeing my rheumy next month. It’s not a huge area but what else can crop up?"

  3. "Hello! Well recently I was fed up with having such dry eyes and mouth. To top it off I began to have eye aches like a toothache in the eye. Worried that maybe pressure was building in my eye I asked advice from my rheumy online. He scheduled blood work for me, and told me to see an opthamologist. After several phone calls with no results, the last opthamologist office told me to go to the ER. Instead I went to an optometrist who saw me right away, checked my eyes thoroughly, even pressed on my tear glands to see what they produced. They produced next to nothing! Especially on the right where my pain was. Pressures were fine and no degenerative signs inside. She gave me samples of different eye drops to try to replace the more viscous part of tears, which was pretty much what I was missing since plain artificial tears weren't working. At last I was able to go longer than an hour without having to dose my eyes again! This optometrist knew what she was talking about. Btw, my official diagnosis is Sjogrens added to my RA. I was wondering when some other AI would show up as they travel in groups."

    1. Hi Ruthieq. Sorry to hear about the Sjogren's diagnosis, but glad that it sounds like your eyes are doing better. Unfortunately, you are right about the autoimmune conditions traveling in packs. Permit me this opportunity to post this article on RA and comorbidities: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/medical-conditions-occurring-along-with-ra/. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

    2. Sure, that would be great Richard. Thank you.
