Hi . Thanks for sharing. It is really interesting because it was not long ago that immunotherapy was thought to be the opposite of a potential treatment for autoimmune diseases because it activates the immune system to help fight invaders - a hyped up immune system is generally the last thing those with an autoimmune condition want. Figuring out how to alter the t-cells has been the trick and is yielding some pretty remarkable results. Here are a couple of other articles discussing research: https://www.uchicagomedicine.org/forefront/immunotherapy-articles/car-t-cell-therapy-treating-autoimmune-diseases and https://www.med.unc.edu/neurology/car-t-cell-therapy-autoimmune-disease-treatment/.
