Change of medication

Has anyone switched from a biologic medication to a more affordable oral one? I am currently taking a biologic (Enbrel) and would like to switch to something like sulfasalazine—with my doctor’s consent, of course. Would such a switch be effective, or has anyone had any particular experience with transitioning away from a biologic medication?
