Cold hands with arthritis: Do you experience this too? Has anyone found a solution that works?

Hi everyone! I have arthritis and chilblains, and one thing I struggle with a lot is keeping my hands warm without losing functionality. In the winter or even in ultra-cold AC, my hands stiffen and become uncomfortable, which makes it harder to write, type, or use my phone.

I’m currently a CS student at Georgia Tech, focusing on devices and hardware, so I’ve started thinking about whether this is a problem I could solve.

I’ve tried a lot of options, but it feels like there’s always a tradeoff:
- Compression gloves help with pain and support, but don’t provide warmth
- Heated gloves provide warmth, but they're bulky and difficult to work with

I haven’t been able to find something that combines:
- Fingerless design (so you can still use your fingertips for touchscreens easily)
- Compression
- Heating
- And a simple, sleek design that makes me feel empowered

So I’m exploring the possibility of creating a thin, heated compression glove designed for everyday use. Before going further though, I’d really love to hear from you all:
- Do you experience similar issues with cold hands and stiffness?
- Have you found any solutions that work well?
- Would something like a fingerless, heated compression glove be useful to you?
- What would make or break a product like this for you? (comfort, battery life, appearance, etc.)

I’d love to hear any anecdotes about your disease that you might have too.

Thank you so much for your input. I’m super excited to build something that solves both a problem of mine and the community!
