Also, does anyone feel hesitant about taking the vaccine being immunocompromised?

Hi kjohnley! I'm hoping others in the community can share their experience. But in the meantime, I want to point you to a primer our editorial team created to answer whether hydroxychloroquine has a preventative effect against COVID-19.
https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/hydroxychloroquine-prevent-covid19/
The studies referenced in the article found that hydroxychloroquine did not help prevent study participants from getting COVID-19. Of course, new studies and information are coming out frequently as more is known about the virus.
Hope this helps add some medical perspective!
Thanks for sharing your questions.

Hi kjohnley. You certainly are not alone in having questions concerning COVID-19 vaccinations and autoimmune conditions. First, I have to say that I am not a medical professional and don't have any personal or particular insight. Trust me - I'm also very interested, as my wife, Kelly Mack (a contributor here) was diagnosed with juvenile RA at two and has had it for over 40 years. What I do want to share is the page with the statement on the vaccines from the American College of Rheumatology: https://www.rheumatology.org/Portals/0/Files/ACR-Information-Vaccination-Against-SARS-CoV-2.pdf. It attempts to offer some information and guidance. Hopefully there will be more information available soon. Best, Richard (RheumatoidArthritis.net Team)

I was diagnosed with probable RA and put on the hydrochloriquine. Two weeks later (last week), I got Covid. My case was fortunately mild but I was already on steroids for airway problems and under the close care of my pulmonologist. He put me on high doses of supplements, plus I had a lot of respiratory meds. I honestly don’t know if the hydrochloriquine helped since I was on many meds, but fortunate I came thru with a mild case.
