MGUS with Seronegitive RA

Diagnosed with intermediate risk MGUS 4 years ago, now diagnosed with Seronegitive RA. When I google the combo, seems like could be increased risk of progression to Multiple Myeloma, but not sure what I'm reading in medical publications. Does anyone else have any experience or knowledge, thanks!!

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak on this issue, but wondering if this is one of the research articles you came across on the increased risk of MGUS advancing to multiple myeloma due to RA: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7993106/. Have you had a chance to speak to your hematologist about this? Hopefully anyone else with experience will chime in here. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. Yes, that is the publication. I forwarded to my oncologist to see what she has to say.

      1. Hi, I just wanted to add to Richard's info a link to an article about just this that we have over on our Blood Cancer site that might be of interest:
        https://blood-cancer.com/living/mgus-myeloma

It deals with the exact connection you are speaking of. Hopefully it gives you a bit more info to ask your doctor about! Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help! Keep on keepin' on, DPM
