Is chest pain and hands locking or weakness symptoms of RA?

  1. Hi . Are these new experiences to you or someone you know? The hands are one of the most commonly impacted areas with RA. This article from our editorial team discusses RA hand symptoms: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/symptoms/hand-pain-swelling-and-inflammation. Chest pain in relation to RA is a little more unique. There is something called costochondritis where there is inflammation and pain in the cartilage where the ribs attach to the breastbone. This page discusses it more: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/video/costochondritis-chest-pain. Some of our contributors wrote about their experiences with costochondritis, such as Michael here: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/chest-pain-costochondritis and Wren here: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/sharp-poke-in-the-ribs. Hope this information is helpful and please feel free to ask further questions. Best, Richard (Team Member)
