Methotrexate Access
Is anyone having issues getting their methotrexate since Roe-v-Wade was overturned? Are you worried at all about potentially being unable to get the meds you need as a result?

Getting methotrexate (or not) has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the overturning of roe v wade (aka leaving it up to states to decide). Take a deep breath and try not to engage in hysteria.
I Am in Okahoma and, thankfully, have not had any problem getting methotrexate.

I don’t think the decision was very well thought at as things like Methotrexate being denied, Dr opinions being questioned by non professional politicians, etc.
My relationship with methotrexate has been love/hate. My rheumatologist did lower the dosage yet it still made me sick. After 15 years of it making me sick 2-4 days a week, I finally said ENOUGH!. I stopped it on my own, have had no issues and told my rheumatologist that I am finished. One less injection per week & 2-4 extra days to not feel sick. So I have had no issues with it because I gave it up on my own!
Living in a red state things could get wonky. But I stopped because of how it made me feel. Luckily, I have had no added flares!Hi
. I am so glad you are doing well without it. If ever you do need medication again, there are so many others out there you can try. Methotrexate is the first medication doctors prescribe because it is relatively inexpensive and many insurance companies require that you try it first. I stopped methotrexate in the spring…after several years of using it…I started throwing up a lot…so much, I damaged my esophagus and threw up blood. I went on Leflunamide…six months and it’s not working…so going back to a biologic.
I live in TEXAS. There should be no problems getting methotrexate.

LOL, my 70 year old (male) husband was turned down for a refill here inTexas. The insurance company intervened and called the pharmacist. Problem solved an hour later!
