What do others do with the continuous pain with RA

Can anyone help me with advice? I’m in constant pain with my RA in every joint, I also suffer with Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my spine, neck, hands and feet. I don’t get any relief from the chronic pains.

  1. Hi . It is clear you are dealing with a lot. So many don't realize that chronic pain is unlike acute/regular pain. I want to share with you this article from our editorial team on pain management specialists: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/pain-management-specialist. In addition, our contributor Kat wrote here about her journey with managing chronic pain: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/reflection-pain-management. Also, I noticed you mentioned osteoarthritis and want to share this article from Nan on living with both OA and RA: https://rheumatoidarthritis.net/living/osteoarthritis-complications. Finally, do you mind if I ask if you have ever found a treatment to control your RA symptoms? We know that the trial and error method of finding an effective treatment can be frustrating and difficult. Hoping you can find some relief and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask further questions - this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. Pain pills help a little. Mostly it’s finding the medication that works for you. Took me many tries. When I have a flare up I’m always in bed for 3 days. Just sleeping not even moving. I’m in remission now🤠hang in there.

      1. Hi Brenda (). Thanks for sharing. , what Brenda said here about finding the right medication to often be trial and error, but possible has definitely been true for many in the community. My wife, Kelly Mack (a contributor here), was diagnosed at age two, 46 years ago - before modern treatments, with the damage to show for it. About seven years ago she started a new treatment that brought her inflammation levels into the normal range for the first time. I'm tagging our team member , who I know had a similar experience, but who also has experience with pain management. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    2. Thank you
